Arson attack destroys Leicester empty pub

A derelict pub in Leicester has been destroyed in a suspected arson attack.

Fire crews were called by members of the public to The Invincible in Sturdee Road, Eyres Monsell, in the early hours of the morning.

The two-storey brick building, which has stood empty for a number of years, has been the focus of complaints about it being an eyesore.

The fire service, which was at the scene for more than three hours, said the cause appeared to be deliberate.

There are no reports of any injuries.
