Police have named two motorcyclists killed in separate crashes in Leicestershire on Friday.

Stephen Matthews, 54, died when his Harley Davidson was in collision with a car and a van on the B6047 in Lowesby at about 0920 GMT.

At 1800 GMT, 69-year-old Robert Benskin was fatally injured when his Honda bike came off the B676 in Buckminster.

In both cases officers are appealing for witnesses to the crashes, or anyone who saw the vehicles beforehand.

The collision which killed Mr Matthews, from Skeffington, happened about 200m (656ft) south of the Lowesby Lane junction and involved a black Toyota Yaris and a Blue Transit van.

Mr Benskin, of Wycombe in Melton, died at the scene of the later crash, at the B676's junction with Timber Hill and The Drift.
