Teenager injured in Loughborough baseball bat attack

Leicestershire police have appealed for witnesses to a "nasty attack" on a teenager by two men with baseball bats.

The 17-year-old boy was approached by the men at 0400 BST on Sunday near Warwick Court Flats, in Warwick Way, Loughborough.

He received serious facial injuries and is being treated in Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The men, thought to be eastern European, escaped along Epinal Way.

One was described as large build, with dark brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a black cardigan with yellow stripes.

The second was smaller, with short black hair and a goatee style beard. He was wearing black trousers and a black waist length jacket.

Det Con Jason Fell from Leicestershire police said: "This was a nasty attack which has left the victim with some serious facial injuries, he is likely to remain in hospital for the rest of the week."
