Warning over Harborough fly-tipping offences

Residents in Leicestershire are being warned to use registered waste disposal firms after incidents of fly-tipping.

Harborough District Council said there have been offences of fly-tipping in Claybrooke Magna, Ashby Parva and Broughton Astley in recent weeks.

Anyone using another company or person to get rid of rubbish was still responsible for its disposal, it added.

Attempts would be made to trace dumped waste and offences could lead to up to six months in prison, the council said.
