Cannabis plants worth £150,000 seized from Oadby house

Hundreds of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to £150,000 have been seized by Leicestershire Police.

Officers went to an address on The Moorwoods, in Oadby, on Tuesday, following a tip-off by a member of the public.

Following a search of the detached house, more than 700 cannabis plants and cultivation equipment were found.

No arrests have yet been made, a police spokesperson said.

Sgt Steve King said: "I am extremely grateful for the local community who helped us by reporting suspicious activity at the property.

"I would urge anyone who thinks drugs are being cultivated in their neighbourhood to give us a call and let us know so that we can take them off the streets."
