Seven arrests after street fight in Leicester
Seven people have been arrested following a major street disturbance in Leicester.
Police were called to a fight between a group of up to 40 men and youths in the Highfields estate just after 1500 BST.
"The reports suggested some of those involved were carrying weapons including knives", said a police spokesman.
The seven men and youths, arrested on suspicion of affray, remain in police custody
Officers are carrying out patrols in the area to minimise further disorder and reassure residents.
The police helicopter was deployed during the incident.
No weapons have been recovered, and there were no reports of injuries, police said.
