Seven released after Leicester street fight
Seven people have been released on bail after a major street disturbance in Leicester.
Police were called to the Pluto Close area of Highfields on Thursday afternoon to reports of a fight, involving up to 40 men and youths.
Police said they had received reports that some of those involved were carrying weapons, including knives.
Seven people were arrested on suspicion of affray and have now been released on bail pending further inquiries.
A Leicestershire Police spokesman said officers believed there had been some injuries in the fight but none had been reported.
Police have been granted emergency stop and search powers and are carrying out extra patrols to minimise further disorder and reassure residents.
Anyone with information about the fight should contact Leicestershire Police.
