Thief steals rings from Ashby antiques shop

Thousands of pounds worth of rings have been stolen from a Leicestershire antiques shop.

A man entered Ashby Antiques, in Bakery Court, Ashby, on Friday afternoon and picked up a tray containing a number of rings and ran out of the shop.

He escaped along Market Street with the tray, which contained various ladies dress rings.

He is described as being in his 40s, about 5ft 2in (1.57m) tall, of slim build.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft, which happened just before 16:15 BST, to contact them.
