Paths in Leicester strung with fishing line

Fishing line strung across pathways and roads in Leicester could seriously hurt someone, police have warned.

A Leicestershire police spokesman said officers received a series of reports concerning lines around the Astill Lodge area of Beaumont Leys in July.

They said it was a matter of luck that no-one had been injured as the routes affected were popular with the local community, including children.

An appeal for information has been made.
