Man robs Kinghton Park teenagers at knifepoint

Four 15-year-olds were robbed at knifepoint in a Leicester park, police said.

The two girls and two boys were sitting in Knighton Park on Monday afternoon when they were approached by a youth, aged between 16 and 19.

He threatened them with a knife and demanded the group hand over their mobile phones.

He made off on a mountain bike stolen from one of the group, stopping to pick up someone else's phone on the way.

Police said the youth is described as black or mixed race, of medium build and was wearing a black hooded puffer-style jacket with hood and a black scarf covering his face.

PC Carl Ball, from Leicestershire Police, said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have any information regarding what happened. Perhaps children of a similar age were out enjoying the summer holidays in the park and may have seen where this man went after?

"If there is anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information regarding the person responsible we would ask them to contact police as soon as possible."
