M1 in Leicestershire reopens following lorry crash

The M1 in Leicestershire has reopened after it was closed for several hours following an accident.

A lorry crashed into the central reservation of the southbound carriageway between junctions 20 and 21 just after 13:00 BST.

Three lanes of the northbound carriageway were shut while two lanes were closed on the southbound carriageway.

The lorry driver was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening, a police spokesperson said.

No other vehicles were involved.
