Grace Road congestion warning ahead of India match

Motorists and sports fans have been told to expect congestion as the Indian cricket team plays Leicestershire.

Police said heavy traffic was expected on Bank Holiday Monday both before and after the afternoon game around the Grace Road ground in Leicester.

Extra patrols are being deployed and officers said parking restrictions would be strictly enforced.

Those without tickets for the sell-out match have been asked not to go near the venue.

Officers said there would be limited paid parking at Nationwide Fast Fit on Aylestone Road but they advised those attending to use public transport.
