Teenage Leicestershire crash victim identified

A teenager who died after a car crashed in Leicestershire has been identified by police.

Ben John Fairlie, 16, of Countesthorpe died after the car he was travelling in crashed on Countesthorpe Road in Blaby at 20:30 BST on 10 September.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the accident to contact them.

The driver of the car received serious injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he is in stable condition.

The victim was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he died shortly afterwards.

It is understood no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
