Man charged over Leicester bank robberies

A man has been charged in connection with two robberies at a bank and building society in Leicester.

The robberies took place at a bank in Horsefair Street on Tuesday and at the Nationwide Building Society, Horsefair Street, on 30 August.

The 45-year-old has been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of possession of an imitation firearm.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday.
