Loughborough road project to cause town delays

Motorists are being warned of delays in a Leicestershire town as work continues on a major resurfacing project.

The A60 Nottingham Road in Loughborough will close for the weekend.

The Leicestershire County Council's recycling centre in the own will be shut on Sunday as a result of the work.

The work is part of the Loughborough eastern gateway regeneration project which will improve conditions in the town prior to the arrival of Olympic athletes for training next year.

A stretch of the A60 Nottingham Road, including its junctions with Ratcliffe Road, Morley Street and Burder Street, will be shut for part of the next two weekends.

A diversion route will be in place during the work.
