Body find on rail line in Sileby prompts police inquiry
British Transport Police are investigating the death of man whose body was found on a railway track in Leicestershire.
Police were called to Cossington Bridge in Sileby at 18:30 BST on Friday after a train driver reported seeing a body on the line.
An investigation into the death is under way and anyone with information is requested to contact the police.
A section of the line was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
The victim has not yet been identified.
British Transport Police Inspector Ian Parnell said: "Officers attended Cossington Bridge in the Sileby area following reports of a body on the line from the driver of the 19:27 Sheffield-to-London service."
