Shotgun fired at Donisthorpe house

Police are investigating an incident in which a shotgun was fired at a Leicestershire house.

It happened in Ashby Road, Donisthorpe, at about 11:00 GMT on Wednesday when a downstairs window was shot at.

No one was injured as both occupants of the house were upstairs at the time.

Police said it was not clear whether the culprits were on foot or arrived in a vehicle and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Det Sgt Dave Parry said: "This was obviously a frightening experience for the victims and has left them both shaken.

"We believe this is a targeted attack in which there was no intent to harm anyone.

"I would like to reassure members of the local community that we are doing all we can to find those responsible for this incident."
