Leicester shop fire tackled by crews

About 20 firefighters have spent the night putting out a fire at a shop in Leicester.

Crews were called to the blaze at the two-storey premises on Burfield Street at about 23.20 GMT on Thursday.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue said fire officials were due to return to the property on Thursday morning to carry out an inspection.

The cause of the fire, which is believed to have started on the ground floor, is under investigation.
