Burglar rips jewellery off Leicester woman during raid

A Leicester woman has been stripped of her jewellery by a man who forced his way into her house.

The 44-year-old victim challenged the offender when she saw him near the property on Gwendolen Road on Thursday evening but he pushed his way inside.

The offender then threatened her before taking the gold necklace, bangles and a ring she was wearing.

Police said the woman had been left very upset and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

The suspect is described as Asian, speaking in broken Urdu/Hindi, approximately 5ft 8ins (1.73m) tall and of slim build with dark eyes.

The ring is 22 carat gold with red and green stripes on it with the words Kulsum & Shabir engraved on the top.

Police said the raider was wearing a dark balaclava that covered the top of his head and neck.
