Driver sought after pedestrian killed in Leicestershire crash

Police are searching for a driver involved in a crash in Leicestershire which killed a pedestrian.

Simon Ware, from Broughton Astley, died on 19 December after a collision in Bitteswell involving a Ford Transit van and a car which was driven off.

Mr Ware, 44, was treated at the scene on Ashby Road, but died later at Leicester Royal Infirmary. The van driver was unharmed.

Police said they were still waiting to hear from the second driver.

Det Con Ady Keeble said: "We are carrying out extensive inquiries to try and trace the unknown vehicle and I would like anyone with information about the collision or the driver of the second vehicle to come forward."
