Christmas Day crash death man, 91, named

A 91-year-old man who died following a two-car crash in Leicestershire on Christmas Day has been named.

Thomas Eley, of Alvaston in Derby, was driving a red Renault Laguna when it collided with a blue VW Golf on the B6540 Tamworth Road, near Castle Donington, at about 12:20 GMT.

He suffered serious injuries and later died. No-one else was in the car.

The driver and three passengers of the VW Golf suffered minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Leicestershire Police.
