A murder investigation has begun after the body of a 50-year-old man was found at his Leicester takeaway.

Dogan Dogan was found at Aladdin's Pizza in Linton Street, Evington, on Sunday afternoon.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out and police said they were awaiting its results.

Officers said there would be an increased presence in the area to reassure residents and the scene would remain cordoned off.

Det Ch Insp Tom Davies, who is leading the investigation, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who spoke to Mr Dogan prior to his death and that might be able to help us with our investigation.

"We are also still keen to speak to anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious in or around Aladdin's Pizza between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon."
