Youth charged over Leicester taxi attacks

A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with attacks on two cab drivers in Leicester.

The victims were threatened and had their vehicles taken on Thurcaston Road and Trent Avenue earlier this week.

The 17-year-old male has been charged with two counts of robbery, carrying an offensive weapon and being in possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He will appear before Leicester Youth Court later.

Three others arrested in connection with the robberies have been released on police bail.
