Woman, 32, charged with Leicester bookmaker robberies

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with three robberies at bookmakers in Leicester.

Police said bookmakers in Charles Street, Melton Road and Melbourne Road were robbed and staff threatened last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A member of staff suffered minor head injuries in the raid at Mark Jarvis bookmaker on Melbourne Road on Saturday.

The woman will appear at Leicester Magistrates Court on 13 March.

A 23-year-old man was also arrested and has been released on police bail.

Cash was stolen in all three raids, police said.

Anyone with information about the robberies has been asked to contact Leicestershire Police.
