Three arrested in Leicester people-trafficking inquiry

Three people have been arrested as part of a police investigation into people trafficking and forced prostitution in Leicester.

Two men, aged 67 and 46, and a woman, 43, were arrested on Thursday.

They were taken into custody after police were given warrants to search addresses on London Road and Howard Road.

Leicestershire Police said the men and the woman have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Det Insp Simon Preston, the officer leading the investigation, said: "Our investigation is still in its early stages and one of our priorities at the moment is ensuring that we are providing the victims with the best support available.

"Officers from various departments across the city will continue to work together to carry out further enquiries and bring the offenders to justice."
