Plans for a new multi-faith crematorium in Leicestershire are to go on display.

Developer Westerleigh Group wants to build the £3m facility on a site just off Leicester Road near Countesthorpe.

The firm said the crematorium, which could hold up to five services a day, would provide more choice for people living in the south of the county.

The plans will be displayed at Countesthorpe Village Hall over the next two days before being submitted to Blaby District Council.

Adrian Britton, from Westerleigh Group, said: "The idea is to design the crematorium in a manner which will offer an atmosphere in which families can grieve in peaceful surroundings.

"We also want to make sure it is sensitively designed to complement the rural surroundings and we are holding the exhibition to get feedback from local residents before submitting our plans."
