Youth, 14, held over Leicester street attack

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an attack on a man in a Leicester street.

The victim, 41, was found with serious head injuries at the junction of Gypsy Lane and Northfield Road, in Northfields, at 23:00 BST on Saturday.

He remains in a critical condition at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The youth was arrested on Monday and has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Detectives believe the man could have been involved in an altercation with a group of people.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
