Olympic torch: Gary Lineker to carry flame in Leicester
Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has been named as one of the torchbearers who will carry the Olympic flame through Leicester on Tuesday.
Lineker, 51, is from the city and played for Leicester City Football Club between 1978 and 1985.
The torch is due to arrive in Leicestershire on Monday afternoon and will stop over in the city.
On Tuesday it will head from Leicester to Loughborough, via the Great Central Railway, before heading to Rutland.
The striker started playing for Leicester City when he left school. He was sold to Everton in 1985.
He later won the golden boot at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, the only Englishman ever to do so.
During his England career the former Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur player scored a total of 48 goals for his country.
