Kegworth Bridge in Leicestershire remains at risk of flooding if river levels continue to rise, the Environment Agency has warned.

Main routes around Loughborough were among those blocked on Monday. Problems were also reported between Thrussington and Rearsby, Rothley and Cossington.

"Snow melt" and heavy rain across the East Midlands resulted in warnings for the River Soar and the Wreake.

Further rainfall was expected, the agency said.

It said 24 hours of rain was forecast and river levels were "steady" on Monday afternoon.

It also advised people living in affected areas to take action to protect their properties.
