Leicester cyclist hit and run prompts appeal

An appeal for witnesses has been made after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Leicester.

The man was riding on Catherine Street, late on Saturday night, when he was struck by a silver Mazda.

The car drove away from the scene but then was then involved in a crash with a black VW Golf.

Officers said they had arrested a 39-year-old man but were keen to speak to anyone with information about either incident.

The cyclist is currently in a serious but stable condition.
