Beaumont Leys murdered man named as Christopher Penman
Police have named a man whose death prompted a murder inquiry when his body was discovered at a house in Leicester.
Christopher Penman, 58, was found dead by police in a property in Somerfield Walk, in the Beaumont Leys area, at about 16:00 GMT on Saturday.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody after officers were granted more time to question him.
The house remains cordoned off for forensic investigations.
In a statement, Mr Penman's two children, said: "Our dad didn't deserve to die, he was a good man.
"We would ask anyone who has any information about what happened to please contact police."
Det Ch Insp Shaun Orton said: "Despite the arrest, we continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Christopher's death.
"We know that there are several members of the local community who are deaf or hard of hearing and perhaps witnessed something and may not have contacted us with any information they may have."
The result of a post-mortem examination has not been released.
