Fresh pictures and dramatic CCTV footage of a gang ripping a cash machine out of a wall have come to light.

The new pictures and video have been revealed of the attack on the Co-operative food store in Sapcote, Leicestershire on Wednesday.

In the footage, a digger slams repeatedly into the building, then skilfully lifts the whole ATM out.

One witness apparently chased the thieves as they made off in a van.

It was the fourth such attack on a Co-op in recent weeks in the county, with previous incidents in Asfordby, Whetstone and Newbold Verdon.

Witnesses described hearing a loud bang and seeing the digger, a telehandler, ramming the building before ripping the cash machine out and loading it onto a Toyota Hi-Lux.

Det Con Stuart Palmer said the gang had stole the vehicles from nearby building sites before targetting the building.

A "considerable amount" of money has been taken, police said.
