A house was evacuated and roads closed after a 1940s grenade was found in an outbuilding.

Police were called to a property in Coventry Road, Hinckley, on Sunday, after the device was discovered by the occupants.

The area was cordoned off and surrounding roads closed as a precaution, police said.

Restrictions were lifted after bomb disposal experts confirmed the device was inert.
