Lincolnshire community hospitals to have same sex wards

Patients at Lincolnshire's community hospitals will only share accommodation with people of the same sex, hospital officials say.

Buildings have been upgraded at Gainsborough, Louth, Skegness and Spalding to eliminate mixed-sex bays.

The move is part of a national drive to improve patient privacy.

Sue Cousland from Lincolnshire Community Health said: "We find that being in same-sex accommodation helps relieve anxieties for patients."
