A woman has been rescued from a suspicious house fire in Lincolnshire by a neighbour.

The fire at the property on Cawood Lane, in Gosberton, which started at 0930 GMT, was limited to the front door and porch.

A 41-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of arson, police said.

The neighbour used a ladder to rescue the 39-year-old woman from a bedroom window, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

The woman was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The two-storey house was badly smoke damaged in the fire, a fire service spokesman said.
