Tom Wood brewery to restart production

A North Lincolnshire brewery which went into liquidation is preparing to start making beer again.

About 50 jobs were lost when Highwood Brewery, in Melton Ross, stopped trading last month.

A local consortium has bought it out and it is due to restart brewing its Tom Wood brand ales but only about four people will be reemployed.

Previous owner, Tom Wood, who is to stay on as the brewery manager, said standards would be maintained.

Mr Wood said the company would be brewing at about half its previous capacity while it judged demand.
