Alert after Lincolnshire boy approached by man in car

An alert has been issued after a man tried to persuade a Lincolnshire schoolboy to get into his car.

The 12-year-old was approached as he walked through Horncastle town centre soon after 0800 BST on Tuesday.

The man, described as bald and unshaven, repeatedly asked the boy to get into his car but drove off when he was ignored.

Police have asked teachers and parents to report any suspicious vehicles or people near the town's schools.

Officers are also asking any witnesses who saw the suspect, who was in a dark grey, medium-sized car, in Horncastle, to come forward.
