Fire crews tackle blaze at Laughton Forest

Firefighters have spent the night tackling a blaze in a Lincolnshire forest.

Crews from Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire were called to Laughton Forest, near Gainsborough, at about 1950 BST on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the fire was caused by a discarded cigarette.

An area of shrub land measuring 50m (164ft) by 50m (164ft) was destroyed in the blaze.

Fire crews remain at the scene damping down.
