North Kesteven District Council gives charity bag alert

A Lincolnshire council is urging people to check doorstep collections are genuine before donating unwanted clothes.

North Kesteven District Council said bogus collectors were operating in the area by leaving bags that closely resembled those used by charities.

The authority said people should check collection bags thoroughly.

Anyone with concerns about a collection is advised to contact the council's licensing team.
