Skegness assault: Man dies from head injuries

A 31-year-old Skegness man who suffered serious head injuries in an attack five days ago has died in hospital.

Peter Schruvers died on Monday in Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre after being injured on Wainfleet Road in Skegness.

Jamie Patrick Rawson, 21, has been charged in connection his death and will appear at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday.

A 25-year-old man and a 33-year-old man remain on bail pending inquiries.

Five other people arrested in connection with the incident have been released without further action.

Mr Rawson appeared at Skegness Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with attempted murder and is expected to face a murder charge when he reappears in court.

Lincolnshire Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the assault.

In a statement, Mr Schruvers' family said, "Peter was a much loved son, brother and father, who will be sadly missed by all the family".
