Gun 'threat' in Skegness jewellery robbery

A Lincolnshire jewellers has been robbed by a man who police think may have been carrying a gun.

The offender went into Gold n' Gifts on Lumley Road, Skegness, just before 10:00 BST on Friday with what appeared to be a weapon in his waistband.

He demanded a holdall was filled with gold chains, described by police as being of "significant value", before fleeing along Lumley Avenue.

Nobody was hurt but a member of staff was left shaken, officers said.

The man was described as white, in his 20s, of large, muscular build and about 6ft (1.83m) tall. He was wearing a grey hooded top and jogging bottoms and sunglasses.

Before entering the store, the suspect is believed to have walked along Wainfleet Road and across the taxi rank at Lumley Square.
