Plans for a major new water attraction at a Lincolnshire holiday park have been given the go-ahead.

Butlins in Skegness has been given permission to renovate its 25-year-old splash pool and build five flume rides, as well as a 28.3m (93ft) flume tower.

The planning application, passed by East Lindsey District Council, states that the tower will be a "landmark feature" for the Butlins' complex.

Butlins said they will reveal more details at a later date.

The original outdoor pool, built in the 1930s, was replaced by the current splash pool in 1987.
