A man found dead in a Lincolnshire garden had been stabbed, police said.

The body of the victim, believed to be a local 48-year-old, was discovered on Sleaford Road, Boston, on Sunday morning.

Detectives said they were treating the death as murder, and want to speak to anyone who saw an altercation in the area in the early hours.

In particular they want to trace anyone who saw a group of men and a woman, or a man being chased by several others.

The disturbance is believed to have taken place near the railway crossing and the Carlton Road junction, between 03:00 BST and 04:45 BST.

The man who died is expected to be formally identified later on Monday.
