Grantham postboxes sealed after postman lost his keys

Twelve postboxes in Lincolnshire had to be boarded up after a postman lost his keys to open them.

The keys were mislaid in the Grantham area on 8 September and postboxes have been sealed to stop them overflowing with letters, the Royal Mail said.

Manthorpe Estate resident Michael Negus said it must have affected everyone on his estate and said he was surprised the Post Office only had one key.

A Royal Mail spokesman said most of the postboxes had now been reopened.

The remainder would be opened this week, once their locks had been changed.
