People in Lincoln are being offered free health checks as part of a project by the city council.

The "body MOTs" are being carried out by the council's health trainers at several venues in the city.

Tests include blood pressure checks, lung efficiency and grip strength as well as calculating body mass index.

People can take part in the assessments at City Hall, Yarborough Leisure Centre, Sudbrooke Drive Community Centre and Birchwood Access Centre.

Martin Carter, healthy lifestyles team leader at City of Lincoln Council, said: "Body MOTs are a great way to find out about your general health and be pointed in the right direction if you need professional advice.

"The added bonus of a drop-in service means that you can fit a body MOT in around whenever is convenient for you."
