Pedestrian killed in A16 Spalding lorry crash named

A pedestrian who died when he was hit by a lorry on the A16 in Lincolnshire has been identified.

Alec Mitchell, 55, from Spalding, died on the Spalding bypass between the Claylake junction and Low Road roundabout on Saturday morning.

The road was closed until 14:45 BST and diversions were put in place.

Lincolnshire Police said the lorry driver, a 31-year-old man, was unhurt. Officers have appealed for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
