Arrests in Chesterfield over counterfeit cash probe
Four people have been arrested after counterfeit banknotes were used at a Derbyshire supermarket.
Two shoppers attempted to buy items using suspected fake £10 notes at Tesco Extra in Lockoford Lane, Chesterfield, on Tuesday morning.
A 22-year-old man and a girl, aged 16, were arrested on suspicion of possessing counterfeit currency.
Two other women, aged 25, were arrested after they were found in possession of suspected counterfeit notes.
Police also found equipment suspected of being used for the manufacture of counterfeit currency.
All four have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
