Sonny Grey murder police show CCTV footage

CCTV footage of three suspects near the home of a Lincoln man on the evening he was fatally attacked has been released.

Sonny Grey, 70, died in hospital after an assault on 29 October which included boiling water being poured over him.

The footage, released by police investigating his murder, shows men entering Westwick Gardens, where Mr Grey lived, and later running away.

Kathy Matchett, one of Mr Grey's daughters, has urged people to come forward with information.

Det Ch Insp Stuart Gibbon said: "Although you cannot see the suspects' faces, the footage does give an idea of their height, build and gait and it is possible that seeing it will trigger some recognition.

"We need people who recognise any of these people to call us immediately."

All of the suspects are believed to be white, around 6ft (1.83m) tall, and wore dark coloured hooded tops. Police believe they entered Mr Grey's house between 18:30 BST and 19:30 BST.

Ms Matchett said: "It's tearing the family apart. Nobody knows how to deal with it which I don't think anybody would in this sort of situation.

"We just need somebody to come forward to let us know who it is.

"Somebody has to know and they're covering up for somebody else. If it was their family member they would want justice."
