Two men have been arrested after a fork lift truck was used to attack a cash machine in Lincolnshire.

Police were called to Lloyds TSB in High Street, Coningsby at 01:16 GMT on Wednesday where they found serious damage to the bank's front.

A Bobcat fork lift truck, thought to have been stolen from a nearby building site, was found at the scene.

Two men, aged 48 and 43, are being questioned after being arrested in the Hubberts Bridge area.

Police believe four people may have been involved in the attempted burglary. It is thought they fled the scene after being disturbed by members of the public.

Officers also found an abandoned Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck at the scene. They said it was unclear whether anything had been stolen.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to come forward.
