Driver dies in South Willingham tree crash

A driver died after his car left the road and hit a tree in Lincolnshire.

Firefighters cut the man from the vehicle but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His silver Citroen was the only vehicle involved in the collision, which happened just before 06:00 GMT on the B1225, High Street, South Willingham.

Police are trying to establish what caused the fatal crash, which is the 47th to happen on the county's roads this year.

The B1225 was closed at the junction with the A157 and local diversions were in place while the crash was investigated.
